Our tugs have been in service under the German flag for over 100 years. Our versatile, modern fleet assists the big ships in 29 ports throughout Europe. All around the clock we provide assistance to ships as they arrive and depart. We assist with manoeuvring in the harbour basin and with mooring. Whether Schottel-ASD (azimuth stern drive), tractor-hybrid, sea-going tug, pusher boat etc. – as our tugs have different drive types, we can offer the right tug at the right place.
We bring your ships safely from A to B. Many of our tugs are equipped for coastal towing. The FAIRPLAY TOWAGE GROUP is thus involved in the whole European coastal area in towage and transport. We have also been operating ocean-going tugs worldwide for decades.
FAIRPLAY has stationed pusher boats in Polish ports to be able to move pontoons and other vessels. These pusher boats work regularly on various maritime building sites in Świnoujście and Szczecin. Due to their very low draught of only 1.20 metres, these 770 hp vessels can also work in very shallow water.
The various tugs in the FAIRPLAY fleet have been working in the offshore sector for many years. This service includes the relocation of oil drilling platforms and the towing of docks. We also confidently handle the towing of lifting platforms for offshore wind energy systems. Five offshore tugs and a total of twelve sea-going tugs are available for these responsible tasks.
Help for ships in distress always has top priority. This prevents injury to people, and damage to ships or cargo, but also prevents damage to the environment. With our fleet stationed on the German coast and in other Northern European ports, we can provide assistance within the shortest possible time. We have acquired our know-how in numerous salvage operations all over the world.
FAIRPLAY is a founding member of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Küstenschutz coastal protection group which was set up in September 2001 in Germany. Currently, the group provides the German government with three of the most modern emergency tugboats. Their task is to help ships in distress and to prevent damage to the environment. From September 2010 the BALTIC stationed at Rostock-Warnemünde and the FAIRPLAY-25 stationed in Sassnitz have operated in the Baltic Sea. Since 2011, the NORDIC has been providing coastal protection in the German Bight as an emergency tug stationed at sea.
As an operator of oil-fighting vessels, BUGSIER offers security for the German coastline as it averts oil pollution hazards. For more than 20 years we have been managing the oil spill control vessels MPOSS, Knechtsand and Westensee on behalf of the German government and the coastal German states. We also work with the Havariekommando, the German central command for maritime emergencies, to provide assistance with tugs in the event of oil spills. Regular joint exercises with the tugs of our fleet in harbour and at sea guarantee the highest technical know-how and a perfectly trained team of experts.
With our BUGSIER Mooring Service we moor you safely in harbour. For the Bremerhaven port area we are available around the clock, seven days a week. An experienced team of 30 dockers as well as eleven IVECO mooring trucks and Manitou telescopic cranes are at your disposal for the efficient handling of all orders. You too can rely on our customer-facing mobile phone service.
The Hamburg THEODOR BUSCHMANN dockyard has a tradition going back more than 150 years. In addition to building new ships and repairs within its own facilities, the yard specialises in worldwide repairs, both underway and in harbour as well as onshore and offshore maintenance and steel construction. With our mobile repair service, for example, we can do metalwork directly on board as your ship is underway to the nearest port.
