The fascination of tugboats

Insights into our everyday life on board

Tugs in harbours, rivers and on the high seas exert a special fascination for many people. These small powerful engines seemingly effortlessly manoeuvre container giants and cruise ships through harbours, pulling lifting platforms through the North Sea or oil drilling platforms to their next place of use. Sailing a tug is first class precision work.

Thanks to their state-of-the-art propulsion equipment, FAIRPLAY tugs can tow large ships to quays in the harbour with centimetre precision. This requires the utmost cooperation of the crew on board. In our picture gallery we show you tugs involved in their classic work, but also photos of rescue operations, maintenance and repair work.
